Saul co-founded Pupa Advisory Initiative after building experience across risk management, insurance advisory, sales and marketing. As Insurance Partnerships Lead, he connects Pupa's community-owned approach with the technical knowledge, underwriting capacity and institutional support of established insurance providers.

His focus is building fair and practical partnerships between communities, SACCOs, cooperatives and insurers. He works to ensure that protection is affordable, clearly understood and structured around the risks households actually face rather than imposed as a conventional insurance product.

Experience & background

Saul has professional experience in Uganda's insurance sector, beginning with UAP Insurance and continuing as the business transitioned into UAP Old Mutual. He later moved to Jubilee Insurance, strengthening his understanding of insurance operations, risk advisory, client engagement and the development of protection solutions.

His experience across established insurers supports Pupa's work of bringing trusted insurance partners into community-led arrangements without taking ownership away from the members themselves.

Joy co-founded Pupa Advisory Initiative with a background in interior architecture, entrepreneurship and the development of practical solutions for households and families. As Community Experience Lead, she helps ensure that Pupa's work begins with how people actually live, organise, communicate and support one another.

Her focus is making community protection understandable, inclusive and relevant to everyday life. She helps translate complex ideas about risk, insurance and financial resilience into accessible programmes that communities can participate in, shape and confidently own.

Experience & background

Joy is an interior architect and entrepreneur whose work spans design, household-focused enterprise and sustainable living. Her entrepreneurial experience includes Becca Homes, Mwanababy Store and Sanyu Reusable Pads. This background brings a practical, human-centred perspective to Pupa's work with families, savings groups and underserved communities.
