Families absorb shocks
Households able to weather an illness, a death or a bad season without falling into debt.
Pupa is early in its journey, but our purpose is clear. We measure success by the lasting change in households and communities: families who can absorb a shock and keep moving forward.
The scale of the problem is the scale of the opportunity.
Clear, honest outcomes we hold ourselves to as the work grows.
Households able to weather an illness, a death or a bad season without falling into debt.
Underserved communities gaining trusted protection for the first time, on terms they help set.
More resilient SACCOs, cooperatives and community groups through protection they share.
Community-owned protection that partners and policymakers can grow nationwide.
Because we advise rather than sell, our measure of success is different. We ask whether a community is genuinely better protected, whether members understand their cover, and whether it holds when a real shock arrives.

No. Pupa is a not-for-profit advisory initiative. We don't sell insurance. We advocate for mutuality, advise communities, and connect them with trusted partners so they can build and own protection together.
It's protection communities create by pooling risk, building on how they already save and support one another. When one household is hit by misfortune, the group helps it recover instead of it standing alone.
Farmers and cooperatives, informal traders, SACCOs and savings groups, and burial societies and faith groups, alongside insurers, financial institutions and development partners.
As a not-for-profit, we're sustained through partnerships and support aligned with our mission, not by selling products. (Placeholder: replace with your actual funding and governance details before launch.)
Whether you're an insurer, a cooperative, a community leader or a development partner, we'd love to talk. Visit our Partner with us page to start.
